Pedro and Alice just moved into a off-campus house in Denver. They have signed a three-month lease, following the lease tips they got from Student Legal Services. They will share the rent of their three-bedroom house with a roommate in order to save some money. The house has three bedrooms.The compatible bedroom will be occupied by the student

with whom they are living with. The house has basic utilities like water, electricity and an Internet connection. It also has basic appliances such as a fridge, a stove, a TV set, a washer and a dryer . If their roommate moves out, they are responsible for paying his share of the rent.

Setting up some rules. For living together to be a success it is important that you establish some rules. Having this in mind, choose the rule you would create based on the situation that is presented.

1. Your roommate smokes a lot. You don’t smoke.

a. Let’s know every time you want to smoke.

c. Could you please avoid smoking?

2. Your roommate likes giving parties at the weekends. Generally, people stay until late at night. You like studying at night.

a. If you want to give parties at the weekend, you are allowed to organize up to two parties by month.

b. Stop the party at midnight, will you?

c. I’d rather have no parties at weekends.
